The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 There is no belying its coming to pass-- 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth shall be shaken with a (severe) shaking, 4 And the mountains will be powdered to dust. 5 So that they will become floating dust particles. 6 And you become [of] three kinds: 7 Those on the right hand; how happy shall those on the right hand be! 8 Companions of the Left (O Companions of the Left!) 9 And the preceders are the preceders. 10 Those are the ones brought near [to Allah] 11 In gardens of delight; 12 A number of people from those of old, 13 but [only] a few of later times. 14 They (will be seated) on gold-encrusted couches, 15 Reclining therein face to face. 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring - 18 They shall not be affected with headache thereby, nor shall they get exhausted, 19 And with fruits, any that they may select: 20 And the flesh of fowl such as they desire. 21 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- 22 Like pearls within their shells, 23 A recompense for that which they have been working. 24 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk 25 but only the saying: 'Peace, Peace' 26 The Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 27 They will be in (the shade) of thornless lote 28 and flower-clad acacias, 29 And shade extended 30 and gushing water, 31 and abundant fruit, 32 Unending, unforbidden, 33 And raised couches; 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 And made them virginal, 36 Loving, equals in age, 37 For those on the Right Hand. 38
