The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event comes, 1 There is, at its occurrence, no denial. 2 The event will be abasing some, and exalting some. 3 When the earth is shaken violently, 4 and the mountains crumbled 5 So they will become like fine dust, scattered in a shaft of light. 6 you shall be divided into three parties, 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 And the Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand? 9 As for the Foremost, they will be the foremost! 10 They shall be near-stationed (to their Lord), 11 In Gardens of Delight. 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 On couches in wrought with gold. 15 Reclining face to face. 16 There wait on them immortal youths 17 with goblets and ewers and a cup filled with a drink drawn from a running spring, 18 Whereby there shall be neither headiness nor will they be inebriated. 19 with fruits of their own choice 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 and there shall be wide-eyed maidens, 22 like the pearls in their shells: 23 As reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 only the saying 'Peace, Peace!' 26 As for the People on the Right, how fortunate shall be the people on the Right! 27 (They will be) among Lote-trees without thorns, 28 and acacias flower-clad, 29 In shade long-extended, 30 and flowing water, 31 And abundant fruit, 32 Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, 33 And on couches or thrones, raised high. 34 and the noble maidens that We have created 35 and made them virgins, 36 Lovers, friends, 37 for those on the Right, 38
