The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the Event (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) befalls. 1 and there can be no denying its happening, 2 The event will be abasing some, and exalting some. 3 When the earth is shaken with convulsion 4 And the hills are ground to powder 5 So that they shall be as scattered dust. 6 On that day, you (mankind) will be divided into three groups: 7 Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 8 And those on the Left Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Record in their left hands), Who will be those on the Left Hand? (As a disgrace for them, because they will enter Hell). 9 And those who surpassed have indeed excelled. 10 It is they who are the close ones. 11 In Gardens of Bliss: 12 A number of the earlier peoples, 13 and only a few of them from the later generations. 14 They will recline on jewelled couches 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 Immortal youths will serve them 17 carrying goblets and ewers and cups filled with the purest wine, 18 Unheady, uninebriating; 19 and such fruits as they shall choose, 20 And flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And [with them will be their] companions pure, most beautiful of eye, 22 as the likeness of hidden pearls, 23 Reward for what they used to do. 24 They shall not hear therein vain or sinful discourse, 25 but only the tiding of inner soundness and peace. 26 The Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 27 Amid thornless lote-trees, 28 And clustered plantains, 29 Lengthened shadows, 30 and gushing water, 31 And plenty of fruits. 32 Neither limited [to season] nor forbidden, 33 And raised couches. 34 Verily We! We have created those maidens by a creation. 35 and made them virgins, 36 chaste, loving companions of the same age 37 All this will be for the People on the Right; 38

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
