Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
