Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
