The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
