The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 And when the pages are made public 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 and the night that falls, 17 And the breath of morning 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 When whither go ye? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
