The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I CALL TO witness the sky (bespangled) with the signs of the Zodiac, 1 by the promised day, 2 by the witness and the witnessed, 3 Woe to the makers of the pit (of fire), 4 Of fire fuel-fed, 5 when they were seated around it 6 And they witnessed what they were doing against the believers (i.e. burning them). 7 Against these they had no grudge except that they believed in Allah, the Most Mighty, the Most Praiseworthy, 8 Whose is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness of all things. 9 Verily those who affected the believing men and the believing women, and then repented not, theirs shall be the torment of Hell, and theirs shall be the torment of burning. 10 Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great attainment. 11 Stern indeed is your Lord's punishment. 12 it is He who begins and repeats [His creation], 13 He is the All-forgiving, the Most Loving One, 14 Honorable Owner of the Throne, 15 the Executor of what He wills. 16 Has not there come to you the story of the hosts, 17 the armies of Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Yet the infidels persist in denial. 19 But Allah doth encompass them from behind! 20 It is indeed a glorious Quran, 21 upon an imperishable tablet [inscribed]. 22
