The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 and so am I: 16 Let, then, the deniers of the truth have their will: let them have their will for a little while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
