The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sun and its noon-time brightness, 1 By the moon when it followeth it, 2 and by the day as it displays the sun's glory, 3 By the Night as it conceals it; 4 By the heaven and Who built it, 5 And the earth and Him Who spread it, 6 by the soul and Who shaped it 7 And inspired it (with conscience of) what is wrong for it and (what is) right for it. 8 those who purify their souls will certainly have everlasting happiness 9 And he is indeed a failure who stunteth it. 10 The Thamud denied (the truth) in their perverseness 11 when the most wicked man among them rose up. 12 Then Allah's Messenger warned them: “Hands off the she-camel and her drink!” 13 But they gave him the lie, and hamstrung the she-camel. So their Lord destroyed them for their crime and razed their city to the ground. 14 He dreadeth not the sequel (of events). 15
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
