The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, 1 created man out of a germ-cell 2 Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous - 3 who taught by the Pen, 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Despite this, the human being still tends to rebel 6 As he bethinkest himself selfsufficient. 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 Have you seen him who restrains 9 A servant when he prays? 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 Or enjoins righteousness? 12 Seest thou if he denies (Truth) and turns away? 13 Does he not know that God sees? 14 Nay! if he desist not, We would certainly smite his forehead, 15 A lying, sinning forelock. 16 Then, let him call (for help) to his council (of comrades): 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 Nay, Obey not thou him. But prostrate thyself, and draw near (unto Allah). ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
