Verily this is a Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds: 192 Which the True Spirit hath brought down 193 To (communicate) to your heart that you may be a warner 194 in the clear Arabic tongue. 195 (a revelation embodied) in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 And was this not a sign for them, that the scholars of the Descendants of Israel may recognise this Prophet? 197 But [even] had We bestowed it from on high upon any of the non-Arabs, 198 And he had recited it to them, and they had not believed (it would have been different). 199 This is how We have made (the habit of) denying embedded in the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe in it until they clearly see the grievous chastisement. 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are not aware, 202 Then they will say: "Can we be respited?" 203 Do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 Beholdest thou? if We let them enjoy for years. 205 and then the promised punishment fell upon them, 206 of what avail to them will be all their past enjoyments? 207 We never destroyed any town without first sending to them warning and guidance. 208 To remind, and We are never unjust. 209 And the Shaitans have not come down with it. 210 they are not supposed to do so. Nor do have they the ability for such a task. 211 indeed they are debarred from overhearing it. 212 Therefor invoke not with Allah another god, lest thou be one of the doomed. 213 And admonish thy nearest kinsmen, 214 Lower thy wing to those who follow thee, being believers; 215 Then if they disobey you, say: "I am innocent of what you do." 216 and place thy trust in the Almighty, the Dispenser of Grace, 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up 218 And watches your movements among those who prostrate in prayer. 219 Surely, He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 [And] shall I tell you upon whom it is that those evil spirits descend? 221 They descend on every lying (one who tells lies), sinful person. 222 on those who whisper hearsay in the ears of people; and most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, only the wayward follow them. 224 Hast thou not seen how they stray in every valley, 225 And that they say what they do not do. 226 except those who believed and acted righteously and remembered Allah much, and when they themselves were subjected to wrong, they exacted retribution no more than to the extent of the wrong? Soon will the wrong-doers know the end that they shall reach. 227
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
