The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the midday brightness 1 and by the night when it covers, 2 (Muhammad), your Lord has not abandoned you (by not sending you His revelation), nor is He displeased with you. 3 What is to come is better for you than what has gone before; 4 Your Lord will give you, and you will be satisfied. 5 Did He not find thee an orphan and give thee shelter (and care)? 6 Did He not find you wandering, and give you guidance? 7 And He found you poor, and made you rich (selfsufficient with selfcontentment, etc.)? 8 Do not oppress the orphan, 9 And as to the beggar, chide thou him not. 10 And keep recounting the favours of your Lord. 11
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
