The Stars (Al-Najm)
62 verses, revealed in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the star when it goes down, (or vanishes). 1 your companion has neither strayed nor is he misguided, 2 nor does he speak out of his desire. 3 It is naught but revelation that is revealed, 4 He has been taught by the Extremely Powerful. 5 Endued with Wisdom: for he appeared (in stately form); 6 while he was in the highest horizon; 7 Then he approached and came closer, 8 And was at a distance of two bow lengths or nearer. 9 then revealed to his servant that he revealed. 10 The heart [of the Prophet] did not misconstrue what he saw. 11 Are you, then, going to contend with him regarding what he sees with his eyes? 12 And indeed he (Muhammad SAW) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] at a second descent (i.e. another time). 13 Near the Lote-tree beyond which none may pass: 14 Close to which is the Everlasting Paradise. 15 (This was) when the lote-tree was covered with that which covered it. 16 (Muhammad's) eyes did not deceive him, nor did they lead him to falsehood. 17 He certainly saw the greatest (signs) of the existence of his Lord. 18 Have ye then considered Al-Lat and AL-'uzza: 19 as well as [in] Manat, the third and last [of this triad]? 20 What! unto you the males and unto Him the females? 21 Behold, such would be indeed a division most unfair! 22 These are nothing but names which ye have devised,- ye and your fathers,- for which Allah has sent down no authority (whatever). They follow nothing but conjecture and what their own souls desire!- Even though there has already come to them Guidance from their Lord! 23 Or shall man have what he coveteth? 24 To God belong the End and the Beginning. 25

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
