Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Nay, is he not acquainted with what is in the Books of Moses- 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 That no burdened person (with sins) shall bear the burden (sins) of another. 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 and that He Himself created the two kinds, male and female, 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace of them, 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 And He overthrew the Cities of the Plain, 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him.
