The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 The piercing star! 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
