Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 Warn the men. 36 To any of you that chooses to go forward (by working righteous deeds), or to remain behind (by commiting sins), 37 Every soul shall be pledged for what it has earned, 38 Except those on the right side. 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 About the guilty: 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 as though they were frightened wild asses, 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 No indeed; each one of them desires that open letters be sent to each of them. 52 By no means! But they fear not the Hereafter, 53 Nay, verily, this is an admonition 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
