HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 and about Abraham who fulfilled his duty (to God)? 37 Certainly no one will bear the responsibility of the sins of another, 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 And that his deeds will be seen, 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 and that the final end is with your Lord, 42 And that it is He Who causeth to laugh and causeth to weep. 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 from a discharged living germ 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 and that it is He alone who frees from want and causes to possess; 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 That it was He who destroyed the 'Ad of old, 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 and covered them with torment. 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 He (Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Will you, then, wonder at this? 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 Wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing, etc.). 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62
God the Almighty always says the truth.
