In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By oath of those that are sent, one after the other. (The verses of the Holy Qur’an or the angels or the winds). 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 To clear or to warn. 6 Indeed what you are promised, will surely befall. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 How will you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 until an appointed time? 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 Set We not therein soaring mountains? Sated you with sweetest water? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 “Which neither gives shade, nor saves from the flame.” 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
