The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 He created the human being 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 [before Him] prostrate themselves the stars and the trees. 6 He raised the heavens and set up everything in balance, 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 Always measure with justice and do not give short measure. 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees sheathed. 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 Pearls and corals come from both. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25
