Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the (Winds) sent forth one after another (to man's profit); 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 To clear or to warn. 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 Till a limit known? 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 So like golden camels." 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
