T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ TaHa. 1 We did not reveal the Qur'an to you to cause you distress; 2 Except as a reminder for one who fears. 3 A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the heavens on high. 4 The Most Gracious Who, befitting His Majesty, took to the Throne (of control). 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on the earth, and all that is between them, and all that is under the soil. 6 And if thou speakest aloud, then lo! He knoweth the secret (thought) and (that which is yet) more hidden. 7 God is the only Lord and to Him belong all the exalted Names. 8 And has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 9 When he saw a fire and said to his family, "Stay here; indeed, I have perceived a fire; perhaps I can bring you a torch or find at the fire some guidance." 10 But when he came close to it, a voice called out: "O Moses! 11 I Am your Lord. Take off your shoes; you are in the holy valley of Tuwa. 12 And I have chosen you, so listen to what is revealed [to you]. 13 Verily I! I am Allah! no God there is but I; so worship Me, and establish prayer for My remembrance. 14 Indeed, the Hour is coming - I almost conceal it - so that every soul may be recompensed according to that for which it strives. 15 So do not let one avert you from it who does not believe in it and follows his desire, for you [then] would perish. 16 And what is that in your right hand, O Moses?" 17 He said: "This is my stick, whereon I lean, and wherewith I beat down branches for my sheep, and wherein I find other uses." 18 God said, "Moses, cast it down." 19 He threw it, and behold! It was a snake, active in motion. 20 He said: Grasp it and fear not. We shall return it to its former state. 21 "Now draw thy hand close to thy side: It shall come forth white (and shining), without harm (or stain),- as another Sign,- 22 That We may go on showing you Our greater signs. 23 Go to Firon, surely he has exceeded all limits. 24
