Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Has the story reached thee of the overwhelming (Event)? 1 On that Day faces shall be humbled, 2 Toiling, weary, 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 They will have no food other than bitter and thorny fruit 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 Some faces on that Day will be radiant, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In the high empyrean, 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 and raised couches, 13 And cups put in place 14 And cushions ranged 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- 18 And the hills, how they are set up? 19 And at the earth - how it is spread out? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
