Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 These are verses of the wise Book, 2 a guidance and a mercy to those who do good, 3 Those who establish regular Prayer, and give regular Charity, and have (in their hearts) the assurance of the Hereafter. 4 These are on guidance from their Lord, and these! they are the blissful ones. 5 There are some people who would purchase distracting talk, to lead astray from the Path of Allah without knowledge, and take it in mockery; for those is a humiliating punishment. 6 And when Our verses are recited to him he haughtily turns away as if he did not hear them – as if there is deafness in his ears; so give him the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 7 Lo! those who believe and do good works, for them are the gardens of delight, 8 Wherein they abide eternally; [it is] the promise of Allah [which is] truth. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise. 9 He has created the heavens without pillar as you can see, fixed the mountains on earth so that it may not shake you away, and settled therein all types of living creatures. We have sent down water from the sky and made all kinds of plants grow in gracious pairs. 10 Such is God's creation. Show me now what those (they worship) beside Him have created. Surely the evil-doers are in clear error. 11
