By the moon, 32 By the night when it departs. 33 and the dawn when it is white, 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 A warning unto humankind 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 except those of the right hand 39 [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They will say: we have not been of those who prayed. 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 until death approached us". 47 The intercession of the intercessors shall then be of no avail to them. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 as though they were terrified asses 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 but this is truly a reminder. 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
