Animals (Al-An 'aam)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Praise be Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth, and made the darkness and the light. Yet those who reject Faith hold (others) as equal, with their Guardian-Lord. 1 It is He who created you from clay then determined a term (of life) for you, and a term (is fixed) with Him. Even then you doubt. 2 He is Allah in the heavens and the earth; He knoweth your secret and your publishment, and He knoweth that which ye earn. 3 Not a sign of their Lord comes to them, but they turn away from it. 4 And now they reject the truth when it reaches them: but soon shall they learn the reality of what they used to mock at. 5 Have they not seen how many generations We destroyed before them? We established them on the earth more firmly than you, and We sent the clouds over them, pouring down abundant rain; and made the rivers flow at their feet. Yet We destroyed them for their sins, and raised up other generations after them. 6 If We had sent unto thee a written (message) on parchment, so that they could touch it with their hands, the Unbelievers would have been sure to say: "This is nothing but obvious magic!" 7 They say: "How is it no angel was sent down to him?" Had We sent an angel down the matter would have come to end, and they would have had no respite. 8 Had we appointed him (Our messenger) an angel, We assuredly had made him (as) a man (that he might speak to men); and (thus) obscured for them (the truth) they (now) obscure. 9 Messengers indeed were mocked at before thee; but those that scoffed at them were encompassed by that they mocked at. 10
