You will not attain piety until you expend of what you love; and whatever thing you expend, God knows of it. 92 ۞ All food was lawful for the Children of Israel, except whatever Israel had made unlawful for himself before the Torah was sent down. Say to them, "Bring the Torah then and read it, if you are truthful. 93 Those who after this invent lies about Allah are harmdoers. 94 Say: "God has veritably spoken the truth. So now follow the way of Abraham the upright, who was not of idolaters." 95 The first House of God to be set up for men was at Bakkah the blessed, a guidance for the people of the world. 96 In it there are clear signs and the station of Abraham; whoever enters it becomes secure. Pilgrimage to the House is a duty owed to Allah by all who can make their way to it. As for those who refuse to follow His command, surely Allah does not stand in need of anything. 97 Say: 'People of the Book, why do you disbelieve in the signs of God? Surely God is witness of the things you do.' 98 Say: 'People of the Book, why do you bar from God's way the believer, desiring to make it crooked, yourselves being witnesses? God is not heedless of the things you do.' 99 Believers, if you obey a certain group among the People of the Book, they will turn you back to disbelief. 100 How could you turn back to disbelief when the words of God are recited to you and you have in your midst His Messenger? Those who seek the protection of God will certainly be guided to the right path. 101
