The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sky and the night comer - 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
