The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 The piercing star! 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 not a flippant jest. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
