Hence, do not kill your children for fear of poverty: it is We who shall provide sustenance for them as well as for you. Verily, killing them is a great sin. 31 And do not approach adultery – it is indeed a shameful deed; and a very evil way. 32 And do not kill any one whom Allah has forbidden, except for a just cause, and whoever is slain unjustly, We have indeed given to his heir authority, so let him not exceed the just limits in slaying; surely he is aided. 33 Do not go near the orphans' property, except with the best of intentions, until they reach maturity. Keep your promises; you will be called to account for every promise which you have made! 34 And correctly measure when you measure, and weigh correctly with the scales; this is better, and has a better outcome. 35 And pursue not that thou hast no knowledge of; the hearing, the sight, the heart -- all of those shall be questioned of. 36 And do not walk haughtily on the earth; you can never split the earth, nor be as high as the hills. 37 Each of these - the vice thereof is unto thy Lord ever detestable. 38 This is part of the wisdom that your Lord has revealed to you. Do not set up any other deity with God, lest you be cast into Hell, condemned and rejected. 39 Has God chosen to give you sons, and taken for Himself daughters from among the angels? You utter grievous things indeed! 40
