The people of Lut belied the sent ones. 160 Their brother Lot asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 161 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 164 "Must you, of all people, [lustfully] approach men, 165 Leaving the consorts your Lord has made for you? But you are a people who exceed the bounds." 166 They said, "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be of those evicted." 167 He said: "I do detest your doings." 168 "My Lord! Save me and my family from what they do." 169 So We saved him and his whole family 170 Except an old woman (his wife) among those who remained behind. 171 We then destroyed the others. 172 And We rained on them a rain (of torment). And how evil was the rain of those who had been warned. 173 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
