The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Where then are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
