▼ 15 The Hijjr Valley
Al-Hijjr 6 of 6
And verily, the dwellers of Al-Hijr (the rocky tract) denied the Messengers. 80 And though We had given them Our signs they turned away from them. 81 Out of the mountains did they hew (their) edifices, (feeling themselves) secure. 82 the blast overtook them early one morning. 83 All that they had acquired was of no avail to them. 84 We did not create the heavens and the earth, and what is between them except in truth. The Hour is sure to come, therefore, forgive them with a gracious pardon. 85 Your Lord is certainly the All-knowing Creator. 86 We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the great Qur'an. 87 Do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [certain] categories of the disbelievers, and do not grieve over them. And lower your wing to the believers 88 And proclaim, “Indeed I, yes I, am the clear Herald of Warning.” 89 (Of a punishment) Like the one We sent down upon the dividers. 90 Those who made the Quran into shreds. 91 But, by thy Sustainer! [On the Day of Judgment] We shall indeed call them to account, one and all, 92 For that which they have been working. 93 Proclaim then, what you are commanded and turn away from the unbelievers. 94 verily, We shall suffice thee against all who [now] deride [this message - all] 95 those who set up another deity alongside Allah. They shall soon come to know. 96 And assuredly We know that thou straitenest thy breast by that which they say. 97 But celebrate the praises of thy Lord, and be of those who prostrate themselves in adoration. 98 and worship your Lord until what is certain [death] comes to you. 99

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
