We verily created man and We know what his soul whispereth to him, and We are nearer to him than his jugular vein. 16 When both receivers (the angels) receive, one on his right, the other on his left, 17 He uttereth no word but there is with him an observer ready. 18 And the intoxication of death will bring the truth; that is what you were trying to avoid. 19 And the trumpet blast will sound: It would be the Day of Doom. 20 And there shall come every soul therewith shall be a driver and a witness. 21 (It will be said:) "Thou wast heedless of this; now have We removed thy veil, and sharp is thy sight this Day!" 22 And his companion will say: this is that which with me is ready. 23 'Cast, you twain, into Gehenna every froward unbeliever, 24 every hinderer of the good, transgressor, disquieter, 25 "Who set up another god beside Allah: Throw him into a severe penalty." 26 ۞ His Companion will say: "Our Lord! I did not make him transgress, but he was (himself) far astray." 27 He saith: Contend not in My presence, when I had already proffered unto you the warning. 28 No word is to be exchanged in My presence. I am not unjust to My servants". 29
