And a sign for them is the dead earth. We have brought it to life and brought forth from it grain, and from it they eat. 33 and [how] We make gardens of date-palms and vines [grow] thereon, and cause springs to gush [forth] within it, 34 so that they might eat of its fruit and the labor of their hands. Will they not give thanks? 35 Limitless in His glory is He who has created opposites in whatever the earth produces, and in men's own selves, and in that of which [as yet] they have no knowledge. 36 And a sign for them is the night; We strip it of the day and lo, they are in darkness. 37 And the sun runs his course for a period determined for him: that is the decree of (Him), the Exalted in Might, the All-Knowing. 38 We have determined the stations of the moon, so that (after its wanderings) it returns as a dried up inflorescent spike of dates. 39 It behoves not the sun to overtake the moon, neither does the night outstrip the day, each swimming in a sky. 40 And a sign unto them is that We bear their offspring in a laden ship. 41 and We have created for them the like of it whereon they ride; 42 If it were Our Will, We could drown them: then would there be no helper (to hear their cry), nor could they be delivered, 43 Except by way of Mercy from Us, and by way of (world) convenience (to serve them) for a time. 44 When it is said to them: 'Have fear of that which is before you and behind you in order that you find mercy' 45 Indeed, not one of your Lord's signs comes to them without their turning away from it, 46 And when it is said unto them: Spend of that wherewith Allah hath provided you, those who disbelieve say unto those who believe: Shall we feed those whom Allah, if He willed, would feed? Ye are in naught else than error manifest. 47 They also say, 'When shall this promise come to pass, if you speak truly?' 48 They must be waiting for but one single blast, which will overtake them while they are still disputing. 49 No (chance) will they then have, by will, to dispose (of their affairs), nor to return to their own people! 50
