Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 Lo! this is one of the greatest (portents) 35 a warning to mortal man 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other 40 About the guilty: 41 What has brought you into hell? 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 “And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly.” 45 and we denied the Day of Judgement 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 As they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 they will only take heed if God so wills: He is the Lord who is worthy to be feared: the Lord of forgiveness. 56
