So remind [O Muhammad], for you are not, by the favor of your Lord, a soothsayer or a madman. 29 Or say they: (he is) a poet, (one) for whom we may expect the accident of time? 30 say [to them], "Wait then: I too am waiting along with you!" -- 31 Does their reasoning prompt them to this, or they are a people rebellious? 32 Or do they say, "He has invented it himself"? Indeed, they are not willing to believe. 33 Then let them bring an announcement like it if they are truthful. 34 Or, were they created out of nothing? Or, were they their own creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, they have no firm belief. 36 Are with them the treasures of thy Lord! or are they the dispensers? 37 Or do they have a ladder whereon they can climb and attempt to listen (to what is transpiring in the Higher Realm)? Then, let any of them who has listened to it produce a clear proof of it. 38 Has (God) daughters and they sons? 39 Or askest thou them for a wage, and so they are weighed down with debt? 40 Or is the Unseen in their keeping, and so they are writing it down? 41 Or do they want to entrap [thee in contradictions]? But they who are bent on denying the truth - it is they who are truly entrapped! 42 Or have they a god other than God? Exalted be God over what they ascribe as partners [to Him]! 43 And if they were to see a piece of the heaven falling down, they would say: "Clouds gathered in heaps!" 44 Leave them then till they meet that day of theirs wherein they shall be made to swoon (with terror): 45 A day in which their guile will naught avail them, nor will they be helped. 46 Surely a chastisement awaits the wrong-doers even before the coming of that Day; but most of them do not know. 47 And be patient upon your Lord’s command, (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), for you are indeed in Our sight; and proclaim the Purity of your Lord while praising Him, whenever you stand. 48 And glorify Him in the night and when the stars begin to wane. 49
