Do you not see that We have sent devils upon the unbelievers who greatly incite them (to oppose the Truth)? 83 So make no haste against them, for We but count out to them a (limited) number (of days). 84 The day on which We will gather those who guard (against evil) to the Beneficent Allah to receive honors 85 And shall drive the culprits to Hell as a herd. 86 None shall have the power of intercession, but such a one as has received permission (or promise) from (Allah) Most Gracious. 87 And they say: "The Most Beneficent (Allah) has begotten a son (or offspring or children) [as the Jews say: 'Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allah, and the Christians say that He has begotten a son ['Iesa (Christ)], and the pagan Arabs say that He has begotten daughters (angels, etc.)]." 88 Surely you have made a monstrous statement. 89 Thereby the heavens are nearly torn and the earth split asunder, and mountains fall crashing down 90 because they have ascribed a son to the Merciful. 91 and it behoves not the All-merciful to take a son. 92 All that is in the heavens and the earth will return to the Beneficent God as His submissive servants. 93 indeed, He has full cognizance of them, and has numbered them with [unfailing] numbering; 94 Every one of them will come before Him all alone on the Day of Resurrection. 95 The Lord of Mercy will bestow affection upon those who believe and perform righteous deeds. 96 We have made it easy in your own tongue in order that you proclaim the glad tidings to the cautious and give warning to a stubborn nation. 97 And how many have We destroyed before them of generations? Do you perceive of them anyone or hear from them a sound? 98
