And the dwellers in Al-Hijr denied (Our) messengers. 80 We also gave them Our Signs, yet they turned away from them. 81 And they used to carve dwellings in the hills, without fear. 82 and so the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at early morn, 83 All that they had acquired was of no avail to them. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them save with truth, and lo! the Hour is surely coming. So forgive, (O Muhammad), with a gracious forgiveness. 85 Verify thy Lord! He is the Great Creator, the Knower. 86 (Muhammad), We have given you the seven most repeated (verses) and the great Quran. 87 Do not direct your eyes towards the things We have given to some of their couples to enjoy, and do not at all grieve because of them, and take the Muslims within the folds of your mercy. 88 And say: "I am indeed a plain warner." 89 Like as We sent down on the dividers 90 Those who broke the Word of Allah into several parts. (Those who broke the Torah / Bible or changed its text – or those who called the Qur’an a fabrication / poetry.) 91 Them, by thy Lord, We shall question, every one, 92 As to what they did. 93 Therefore declare openly what you are bidden and turn aside from the polytheists. 94 Indeed We suffice you against these mockers. 95 who set up another god with God, but they shall soon learn. 96 We do indeed know how thy heart is distressed at what they say. 97 but extol thou thy Sustainer's limitless glory and praise Him, and be of those who prostrate themselves [before Him] in adoration, 98 and serve thy Lord, until the Certain comes to thee. 99

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
