The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 and brightening morning, 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
