He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ (The Prophet (Peace be upon him)) frowned and turned away, 1 Because there came to him the blind man (i.e. 'Abdullah bin Umm-Maktum, who came to the Prophet (Peace be upon him) while he was preaching to one or some of the Quraish chiefs). 2 But what would make you perceive, [O Muhammad], that perhaps he might be purified 3 Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? 4 Now as for him who believes himself to be self-sufficient 5 You pay full attention, 6 though you are not to blame if he would not cleanse himself. 7 And for him who came to you striving, 8 and fears (Allah), 9 him didst thou disregard! 10 No indeed; it is a Reminder 11 For any one who desires to bear it in mind, 12 On honoured leaves 13 exalted, purified, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 Noble and righteous. 16 Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he. 17 Of what did He create him? 18 Out of a sperm-drop did He create him and then determined a measure for him, 19 Then maketh the way easy for him, 20 Then gave him death, so had him put in the grave. 21 Then when He pleases, He will raise him to life again. 22 Nay, but (man) has not done what He commanded him. 23 Let man reflect on the food he eats. 24 [how it is] that We pour down water, pouring it down abundantly; 25 Then We split the earth properly. 26 We make the grain grow out of it, 27 And grapes and herbage, 28 Olives and dates, 29 And thick gardens, 30 and fruits and herbage, 31 A provision for you and for your cattle. 32 AND SO, when the piercing call [of resurrection] is heard 33 The day on which a man shall fly from his brother, 34 mother, father, 35 And his wife and his children, 36 Each man will have enough cares that day. 37 Some faces will shine, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news. 39 And (many) faces on that day, on them shall be dust, 40 Covered with the blackness (of shame): 41 Those, they are the unbelievers, the immoral. 42
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
