Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is cleft asunder; 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 When the seas are poured forth, 3 And when the Graves are turned upside down;- 4 everyone shall know all his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 5 O man! What has deceived you away from your Lord, the Most Beneficent? 6 Him Who created thee. Fashioned thee in due proportion, and gave thee a just bias; 7 Into whatsoever form He will, He casteth thee. 8 Despite this, you deny the Day of Judgment, 9 And yet, verily, there are ever-watchful forces over you, 10 Illustrious scribes 11 They know whatever you do. 12 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 13 and the wicked shall be in the Blazing Fire. 14 They will enter it on the Day of Justice. 15 And they will not be able to keep away therefrom. 16 And what will make you realize what the day of judgment is? 17 Again would that you only knew how terrible it really is! 18 It is a Day whereon no soul shall own aught of power for any soul; and the command on that Day will be Allah's. 19
