The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Recite in the name of your Lord Who created, 1 created Man of a blood-clot. 2 Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 Who taught (to write) with the pen 4 taught Man that he knew not. 5 By no means: Verily man exorbitateth. 6 For he thinks he is sufficient in himself. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the returning. 8 What is your opinion – regarding him who forbids – 9 a servant of Ours from prayer? 10 Tell me, if he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is on the guidance (of Allah)? 11 or if he commands others to maintain piety!? 12 Did you consider: what if he gives the lie (to the Truth) and turns away (from it)? 13 Is he then unaware that Allah seeth? 14 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 So, let him call upon his way! 17 and We too will call the stern and angry keepers of hell. 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
