Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 excusing or warning, 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 For a known extent. 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
