Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
We sent Noah forth to his people, saying, "Warn your people before there comes upon them a grievous punishment." 1 [Noah] said, "My people! I am but a plain warner to you, 2 Worship God, have fear of Him and obey me. 3 so that He may forgive you some of your sins, and grant you respite until a term known [to Him alone]: but, behold, when the term appointed by God does come, it can never be put back - if you but knew it!" 4 He said, “My Lord! I invited my people night and day.” 5 but it has had no effect on them except to make them run away. 6 And every time I called them that You may forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, and covered themselves with their garments, and became wayward, and behaved with downright insolence. 7 I called to them clearly, 8 Then I announced to them and [also] confided to them secretly 9 "Saying, 'Ask forgiveness from your Lord; for He is Oft-Forgiving; 10 He will send you abundant 11 'And give you increase in wealth and children, and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers." 12 What ails you, that you look not for majesty in God, 13 And indeed He has created you through various grades: 14 Do you not see how God has created the seven heavens one above another, 15 and has placed the moon in them as a light, and the sun as a radiant lamp? 16 God made you grow from the earth. 17 and He will later cause you to return to it and will then again bring you out of it. 18 And Allah hath made the earth a wide expanse for you 19 for you, so that you may walk along its wide roads". 20
