The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ What are they asking (one another)? 1 About the great news - 2 concerning which they have disputes. 3 But they will soon come to know. 4 Surely, they will soon find out the truth! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs; 8 And have made your sleep as a thing for rest. 9 And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness), 10 And We made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 and built above you seven strong firmaments, 12 and placed in them a blazing lamp 13 And We sent down rain from water-laden clouds pouring in torrents 14 that We may bring forth with it grain, plants 15 And gardens of entwined growth. 16 Verily the Day of Decision is a time appointed. 17 the Day when the trumpet [of resurrection] is sounded and you all come forward in multitudes; 18 and when the sky shall be opened up and will become all doors; 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 Certainly Hell lies in wait, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 for the rebellious ones and they will live therein for ages. 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 Except scalding water and [foul] purulence - 25 An appropriate recompense. 26 Indeed they had no fear of the account. 27 And called Our communications a lie, giving the lie (to the truth). 28 And We have recorded everything in a book, 29 So taste! for We will not add to you aught but chastisement. 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
