The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness, 1 and the day in splendour 2 And by Who created the male and female, 3 surely your striving is to diverse ends. 4 Then as for him who giveths and feareth Him. 5 And believeth in goodness; 6 Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease. 7 But he who does not give and is unconcerned, 8 and calls the ultimate good a lie 9 We will make smooth for him the path for evil; 10 his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes. 11 Verily We take upon Ourselves to guide, 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire 14 [the fire] which none shall have to endure but that most hapless wretch 15 He who denieth and turneth away. 16 And away from it shall be kept the one who guards most (against evil), 17 the Godfearing who spends his wealth to purify himself; 18 And have in their minds no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 but only out of a longing for the countenance of his Sustainer, the All-Highest: 20 and he shall surely be satisfied. 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
