Nay! By the moon 32 By the night when it departs. 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 A warning to mortals, 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 Every soul shall be pledged for what it has earned, 38 except the people of the right hand 39 who shall be in the Gardens, and shall ask 40 And (ask) of the Sinners: 41 "What has caused you to enter Hell?" 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 and we were wont to indulge in sinning together with all [the others] who indulged in it; 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 The mediation of no mediators will avail them then. 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, everyone of them desires that he should be given pages spread out (coming from Allah with a writing that Islam is the right religion, and Muhammad SAW has come with the truth from Allah the Lord of the heavens and earth, etc.). 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
