(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Hath he knowledge of the Unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 and that his labouring shall surely be seen, 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 from a drop of sperm when it was emitted, 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 and that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius, 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 and Thamood, sparing no one, 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 And the overthrown cities did He overthrow, 53 So that there covered them that which did cover. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Do you then find these tidings strange? 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
