The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 And when the pages are made public 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
